No Racism
Our commitment against racism and discrimination

Dear rum lovers,
the question of the marketability of historical rum bottles with thoroughly dubious labels has occupied us for a long time. In particular, of course, which bottles should be excluded from sale due to racist depictions.
As the history of rum is unfortunately inevitably interwoven with that of the slave trade and slavery itself, we would like to distance ourselves from this in no uncertain terms. A dark chapter in history that has unfortunately still not been sufficiently analysed.
Despite this fact, we have decided to regard the labels of old rum bottles as historical artefacts from a different era, and for this reason we do not generally exclude such bottles.
Of course, there must and will be limits. Labels that use racist terms or clearly show a racist background will not be auctioned in our auction house.
We welcome open dialogue and feedback from our community. If you have any concerns about specific bottles, please let us know. This way we can work together to do justice to this complicated issue and act appropriately.
We hope to work with you to build a positive and inclusive community that celebrates the beauty and diversity of the rum world as equals, without reservation.
Thank you for being part of the RhumAuction.Com & CognacAution.Com family.
