All eyes on … 4 of the rarest and surely most extraordinarily Rums in terms of history and even more – in quality!
Surely we are talking about those 4 legendary 1964 Port Morant bottlings – distilled in the Double Wooden Pot Still at Uitvlugt Distillery. That famouse wooden Still was removed at the closed Port Morant Distillery and rebuild at Uitvlugt Distillery in the middle oft he last century. Bottled by the legendary independent bottler William Cadenhead, founded back in the year 1842. After a long and very interesting history they were one of the first independent bottlers of single cask / single batch Rums.
But coming back to those 4 bottlings – all of them bearing the highest ratings and reputation in the world of rum and are highly sought after in the community of Rum lovers.
All of them are very complex and rich, strong on all sorts of flavours – but not overdriven by wood, even if the colour may suggest. A nose and taste with a level of intensity that you can have that beloved one dram for a whole evening – and being satisfied for hours! So these unicorns are definatly a time capsule and a historic piece of rum which never will be reproduced.

Bottled in September 2001 after 36 years in wood with an incredible strength of 69,3% Vol. it’s one of the two older expressions from that series.
There is one bottled with an age of 30 years, one with 32 years and two bottles with an age of 36 years. Imagine having them as a vertical tasting – something we should work on!
