Port Morant - Auction Highlights

Port Morant

We are very happy to present you some special Demerara rums in our current auction.

These three rums were distilled at Uitvlugt in the famous Port Morant Double Wooden Pot Still. That's right - a pot still made of wood - Greenheart wood to be precise. This wood is one of the most resistant and hardest woods in the world - and only because of these properties is it suitable for distilling rum.
This historic pot still and the fact that these rums were allowed to mature for an unusually long time make them some of the rarest rum bottlings of all.
Anyone who has ever drunk a Port Morant from this period knows its uniqueness. Heavy and concentrated, complex and long-lasting - just right to linger over a dram and enjoy a piece of liquid history from the world of rum.

Finally we have the Port Morant 1993 Full Proof bottled by Velier. This was also distilled in the wooden Port Morant pot still. A very exciting drop, bottled at 65% vol. after 13 years of tropical maturation. Heavy and intense with concentrated roasted aromas and spicy notes from the wood and an overlong finish - and a good portion of licorice.

We wish you all much success and fun bidding on these legendary bottlings!
